BHUJANGASANA (cobra pose)

BHUJANGASANA (cobra pose) is a prone back bend, awakening the heart chakra.

Starting from all fours, lower all the way down onto the mat and straighten your legs.

Keeping your feet hip distance apart, point your toes and engage your leg muscles.

Place the hands under the shoulders, spread the fingers wide and hug the elbows in close to your torso.

Exhale and engage your core.

On an inhale, pressing the tops of your feet and your hands into the mat, begin to straighten your arms and lift your chest, shoulders and head off the floor.

Lift the breastbone but keep the back of the neck long.

Stay for five breaths, then release back down.
